Unbalanced Engineering has helped one of our clients develop many PCB test fixtures. In this industry tolerance is extremely
critical, and in the case of flexible cell phone PCBs it is held to less than 0.0001 inches. Safety interlocks are also developed to prevent
damage to million-dollar satellite flight boards. Most of our projects for this client have been a
comprehensive solution from concept to a complete set of production prints. Several of our designs are shown and discussed below.
ADB Test Fixture
Our client's customer desired to probe the PCB
by hand while it was being tested through its edge connectors. Safety interlocks were also designed to ensure that each
step of the board insertion procedure was complete before the next one was initiated.
We also supplied the animations shown early in the design to obtain process buy-off. The rear view is shown below.
