Stainless Oversized Tilt Steering Pins
These pins will allow you to get rid of that annoying slop and repair your tilt steering column. Available as a single pin or as a pair. We are still trying to determine which models they fit, but we believe they fit the following models:
1976-1986 Jeep CJ
1987-1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ
1974-1983 Cherokee SJ
1984-1996 Cherokee XJ
1986-1992 Comanche MJ
1974-1991 SJ & J-Series pickups
Other Jeeps that used a Saginaw steering column
These pins are oversized replacements for tilt column pins that are 0.890 long and have diameters of 0.400 and 0.375. Shoot us an email with any questions.
Other possible causes of tilt slop
These pins cure the most common cause of tilt slop, specifically that the holes in the aluminum steering knuckles wear and deform over time. This is usually indicated by slop in the "12 O'clock to 7 O'clock" movement of the steering wheel. A far less likely, but often publicized cause, is that the 4 torx screws under the tilt mechanism are loose. This results in general wheel movement in every direction. Hopefully this distinction will help to determine which of the two scenarios you are experiencing.
Cost $18 for one pin
Cost $34 for two pins
